Room Leaders – Baby Room & Pre-School
Location: Peterborough
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time
Salary: £13.50–£14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Positions Available: 2 (Baby Room Leader & Pre-School Room Leader)
About the Roles
ACR Recruitment & Training Ltd are supporting a vibrant nursery in Peterborough in recruiting two passionate Room Leaders for their Baby Room and Pre-School Room.
These are exciting opportunities to create nurturing, engaging environments where young learners can explore, develop, and thrive. As a Room Leader, you'll guide your team in delivering high-quality care and education, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire your room team to deliver exceptional standards of care and education
Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities in line with EYFS 2025
Support children's individual needs through tailored care plans, including those with SEND
Act as Key Person, building strong relationships with families
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Foster positive behaviour management strategies
Supervise and mentor junior staff members
Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure emergency procedures are up to date
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
What We're Looking For
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare (UK recognised)
Health and Social Care qualifications are not recognised by Ofsted
Proven nursery experience with strong room management and leadership skills
Sound knowledge of childhood development and EYFS 2025 framework
Experience with behaviour management in early years settings
First Aid certification (or willingness to complete – we can arrange training)
Enhanced DBS check required
Desirable:
Experience with infants, toddlers, or children with SEND
Previous Room Leader or supervisory experience
Personal Qualities:
Warm, professional, child-centred approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Passionate about making a positive difference in children's lives
