Salary: £27,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm

About the Role
Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Rota Coordinator based in York, working on behalf of one of our key clients. This is a fast-paced, varied, and rewarding role where you’ll ensure clinical and operational rotas are fully resourced to maintain safe staffing levels across services.
You’ll take responsibility for rota coordination, liaising with staff, managing locum bookings, and ensuring accurate payroll input. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and coordinate daily rotas across multiple services.
Act as the first point of contact for rota queries.
Identify workforce gaps and arrange cover for planned/unplanned absences.
Liaise with agencies to book locums and ensure cost-effective cover.
Ensure rotas reflect safe staffing levels and appropriate skill mix.
Maintain the rota system (e.g. Rotamaster) and support payroll accuracy.
Provide rota reports and respond to queries promptly.
Build strong working relationships with staff and managers.
Essential Skills & Experience
At least 1 year’s experience coordinating rotas/shifts.
Good standard of education (A-Level / Level 3 or equivalent).
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
Experience with clinical systems (Rotamaster, SystmOne).
Knowledge of workforce planning and rota design.
Understanding of Primary Care or healthcare settings.
Own transport and flexibility to meet service needs.
