Offshore Rotational Crane Service Technician
Rotation: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off
Location: United Kingdom (Offshore)
Earnings: Circa £65,000 – £70,000 per annum (based on 2/2 rotation)

We are currently seeking experienced, multi-skilled Offshore Crane Technicians for long-term rotational positions supporting crane operations across UK offshore assets. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected global engineering team, working with advanced crane systems in a demanding and rewarding offshore environment.
We’re looking for true all-rounders — engineers with solid electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical expertise who can confidently handle maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across a range of offshore crane systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of offshore cranes and associated lifting equipment.
Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fault-finding and repairs on cranes, including systems from leading manufacturers (e.g. Liebherr, Kenz).
Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime and operational safety.
Work from technical drawings and schematics to resolve issues efficiently.
Collaborate with other technicians and offshore teams to meet project and operational goals.
Maintain accurate documentation and deliver clear, detailed service reports.
Support lifting operations and rigging activities, always ensuring full HSEQ compliance.
Assist with identifying and sourcing spare parts as required.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Hydraulic Engineering.
Proven offshore experience in crane maintenance, inspection, and repair.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills on electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Offshore certification (BOSIET & MIST) – training can be provided if required.
OPITO Stage 2/3 Crane Operator certification (advantageous but not essential).
Familiarity with PLC control systems and load monitoring systems (e.g. MIPEG or PAT).
IT literate, with the ability to produce accurate, professional reports.
Comfortable working at height and in offshore conditions.
Valid UK or Irish driving licence.
