Job Description

Safeguarding, Welfare & Attendance Support - Aylesbury Location: Aylesbury Contract Type: Term Time Only (39 weeks per year) Hours: 35 - 42.5 hours per week Salary: NJC Scale 5 (depending on experience) Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Academics are currently recruiting for a Safeguarding, Welfare & Attendance Support professional to join a dedicated team supporting students and families in Aylesbury. In this role, you will act as a Deputy Safeguarding Lead and provide targeted interventions to support students' welfare, wellbeing, and attendance. You will work as part of a multi-agency safeguarding team, liaise with external professionals, and ensure timely and effective safeguarding responses across the school community. Key responsibilities include: Providing pastoral and therapeutic support through 1:1 and group sessions Addressing welfare, safeguarding, and attendance concerns as they arise Engaging with families, conducting home visits, and supporting emotionally-based school avoidance Referring students and families to statutory services in line with local thresholds Attending and contributing to safeguarding meetings, assessments, and reports Supporting and enhancing school attendance processes This Safeguarding, Welfare & Attendance Support role in Aylesbury offers a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
