Salary + Benefits: Highly competitive + benefits including 5% bonus, 15% client pension contribution and 28 days holiday

Our client, Sizewell C, is looking for a skilled and experienced Safety Case Engineer to take on a Section Lead position within their Design Authority Safety Case team working in support of the delivery of their new nuclear power station construction project, one of the UK's largest and most important infrastructure projects.
The home office for this role will be in Gloucester, close to j11a of the M5. This is a hybrid role requiring. Whilst the client would ideally like the person to work in the office 2-3 days/week, for the right individual they are willing to be flexible to try and accommodate personal circumstances and make the role attractive and workable.
The Section Lead Safety Case Engineer position will involve managing a small team (2-3) of authors and engineers in the delivery of CAT 1 and CAT 2 nuclear safety cases, scoping out, determining and deciding what changes need to be made and then coordinating and leading the delivery of these amendments.
The client is thus looking for a safety case engineer with at least a few years work within a regulated environment (e.g. nuclear, oil and gas, rail, petrochemical, aerospace, defence) who can take on this section lead position. The role would suit someone with more generalist skills who can look at and understand a wide range of information and then fit this into the safety case. They will require knowledge / appreciation of the whole safety case process and the capability to discuss / understand safety cases at a systems level.
The individual will not be involved in the writing of safety cases themselves, but an appreciation of this process would be required. In addition to experienced Safety Case Engineers., the role could thus suit a Safety Case Author author with a number of years experience looking to move into a more Safety Case delivery focussed position.
The future expectation would be that this person would progress into a Group Lead position in the future and beyond that, in the longer term, other more senior level roles would present themselves. The role thus offers an outstanding long-term career opportunity for the right individual.
