Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team, working on defence platforms and systems. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for delivering safety and environmental engineering support across the full system lifecycle. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure that safety requirements are met, and your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our systems. If you have a strong background in safety engineering and a passion for delivering high-quality results, we want to hear from you.
Required Skills
* Proven experience in safety engineering within the defence sector or other safety-critical industries
* Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards
* Proficiency in safety analysis techniques and tools (e.g. HAZOP, FMEA, FTA)
* Familiarity with safety lifecycle management and systems engineering principles
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Nice to Have Skills
* Experience with safety case development and management
* Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-056, IEC 61508)
* Familiarity with IBM DOORS and other safety management tools
* Experience with project planning and bid development from a safety perspective
Preferred Education and Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related degree
* SC Cleared (or eligible)

* Sole British Nationality
* 3 days per week on site in BristolBefore You Apply
