Job Title: Safety Engineer
Overview:
An opportunity to join a leading defence organisation as a Safety Engineer, contributing to the safety assurance of complex weapon systems. This role involves working across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safety analyses and documentation that support integration onto domestic and export platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Safety Case Reports, Safety Management Plans, and hazard analyses.
Lead safety activities in collaboration with internal teams and external authorities.
Conduct hazard identification exercises (HAZOP, SWIFT) and risk assessments (FTA, ETA).
Support safety panels and certification processes.
Ensure compliance with standards such as DEF-STAN 00-056, IEC 61508, DO-178C, and DO-254.
Essential Skills:
Strong background in safety engineering within defence or aerospace.
Experience in electronic engineering (degree/HND level or equivalent).
Familiarity with system engineering and safety integration.
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
