Job Summary:
As a Sales Engineer at AMP Automation, you will be responsible for developing sales of ancillary equipment to new and existing customers. Managing the complete customer journey from development to successful installation. You will build strong relationships with partners and customers, provide timely and helpful information, and collaborate across the organization to meet customer needs. Your role will involve breaking down objectives into actionable initiatives, handling tough issues, and motivating the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Consultancy and Advice: Provide expert consultancy and advice for customer applications.
* Pre-Contact Documentation: Prepare drawings, layouts, and quotes for customer projects.
* Technical Interface: Serve as a primary technical interface between partners and vendors.
* Sales: Drive sales of ancillary equipment using technical expertise during customer engagements, system configurations, and solution proposals.
* Customer Integration: Help customers apply and integrate automation products into real-world scenarios, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
* Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as sales, engineering, and product management to meet customer needs.
* Customer Liaison: Liaise with customers to understand their requirements, evaluate drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates.
* Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys as needed.
* Risk Identification: Identify and discuss technical, commercial, or competitive risks with the Business Development Manager (BDM) and the engineering team.
* Engineered Solutions: Develop engineered solutions by collaborating with internal departments to meet customer requirements, propose alternative value-engineered designs.
* Cost Estimates: Obtain accurate quotations for high-cost items and use internal estimating schedules to produce precise cost estimates.
* Project Management: Manage ordered projects utilising engineering and production teams, communicate relevant commercial and engineering details and keep the customer updated.
Role Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
* Ability to use CAD based software for proposals.
* Able to manage internal and external stakeholders.
