Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Estimator to work on a permanent basis for a large engineering company based near Ashton Under Lyne.

Salary is c£34-40,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, bonus, healthcare etc.

Duties for the Sales Estimator role:

As a Sales Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the sales process by reviewing customer enquiries, analysing technical requirements, and producing accurate cost estimates and quotation documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Receiving and reviewing customer enquiries via email, phone, and online portals

  * 

    Analysing Bills of Materials (BoMs) to determine required manufacturing processes

  * 

    Liaising with external suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information

  * 

    Logging and tracking enquiries using internal systems and dashboards

  * 

    Following up with suppliers to obtain timely responses

  * 

    Building cost breakdowns for component parts and processes

  * 

    Preparing and submitting quotation documentation to customers

Skills and experience for the Sales Estimator:

  * 

    Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment

  * 

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  * 

    Strong commercial awareness

  * 

    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  * 

    Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  * 

    Proactive approach with the ability to work within a busy team

  * 

    Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
