An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Sales Department for a General Sales Manager for the Northern Territory. The successful candidate is likely to have a proven sales management background, and a proven track record within the metal cutting industry. This is a senior management position with strong leadership skills reporting to the UK Sales Director.
You will be based within the designated region and play a key role in supporting a team of three Area Sales Managers and one Area Sales Engineer. Your primary responsibility will be to help achieve the regional annual sales targets by actively promoting and selling a broad portfolio of our industry-leading CNC machines. This role is critical in unlocking the full potential of our brand within the defined territory and contributing to the overall success of Yamazaki Mazak’s sales strategy.
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential as is the ability to think innovatively while also having the capacity for detail and planning. You will be a pragmatic & credible individual who will portray a positive image of our Company and products to customers and potential customers.
The Role
* Lead and inspire a team of sales professionals to exceed performance targets.
* Deliver regular feedback and coaching to support individual and team growth.
* Support team’s time management and planning capability.
* Create a positive and supportive work environment.
* Maintain high accuracy in daily sales forecasting using CRM systems.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal/external stakeholders.
* Actively support succession planning and team development through continuous improvement.
* Empower team members to make decisions.
* Committed to continuous learning and development.
* Prepare monthly reporting and contribute to strategic business planning.
* Maintaining existing accounts and creating growth into new accounts.
* Support to align internal resource to deliver the correct solution - Applications – Service
* Ensure the correct documentation is in place and internally agreed.
* Track revenue, profit, and loss margins.
* Monitor and ensure customers meet payment milestones in line with contractual obligations.
* Represent the Mazak brand with professionalism and integrity.
* Successfully work toward and manage a capital sales annual target of approximately £22 million.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Self-motivated who thrives in team environments.
- A minimum of 5 years' successful experience selling within the engineering/manufacturing sector.
- Strong sales negotiation skills especially in high value deals.
- Confidently present & prepare presentations.
- Effective communication; excellent communication skills are essential for sales.
- Communicate at all levels of the business.
- Experience of CRM.
- Skilled in time management, utilising proven methods to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Clean driving licence.

* Preferably team management experience with a strong record.
