Our client, a leading player in the alternative fuels sector, is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive commercial growth across East & South Germany, with additional responsibility for the Czech Republic and Poland.
This is a senior commercial role for someone who knows the RDF market, understands the dynamics of working with both operators and burners, and thrives in a trading-led, relationship-driven environment.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of developing new business and expanding the company’s footprint with both new suppliers (operators) and new off-takers (burners). With increasing demand for Germany-based waste streams and rising transport costs, the focus will be firmly on building strong, sustainable partnerships across Germany first, then expanding into Czech Republic and Poland.
The market is ripe for growth—regional operators, large players, and a rapidly expanding baling/wrapping ecosystem all create rich opportunities for someone who knows how to spot, shape, and secure deals.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Developing and securing new RDF offtake agreements with burners and industrial users
* Building commercial relationships with large operators as well as regional suppliers
* Driving RDF trading activity with a secondary focus on SRF
* Growing market share in Germany, Czech Republic, and Poland through proactive business development
* Managing the full trading cycle: contracts, pricing, tonnage, negotiations
* Acting as the key commercial presence on the ground—home-based, always on the road, meeting partners face-to-face
* Working closely with internal teams while integrating with an existing network of traders and commercial managers across Europe
What You Bring
* Strong experience in RDF trading (essential) and ideally a good understanding of SRF
* Existing relationships in the waste, alternative fuels, recycling or energy-from-waste sectors are a major advantage
* A proven ability to win contracts with burners and source tonnage from operators
* Resilience, commercial sharpness, and the mindset of a relationship-builder who enjoys knocking on doors
* Fluent German plus strong English; additional Polish or Czech is beneficial
* Comfortable working independently in a heavily field-based role
* Based in Eastern or Southern Germany, with willingness to travel extensively
