Sales Manager – GRP Roofing

Job Title: Sales Manager (National) – GRP Roofing

Industry Sector: GRP Rooflights, Rooflights, Profiled Rooflights, Roof Fixing Systems, Industrial Rooflights, Roof Lights, Glazing, Skylights, Roof Glazing, Roofing, Building Envelope, Builders Merchants and Roofing Contractors

Area to be covered: National

Based: South West, South Central, West Midlands, Wales or Cheshire

Remuneration: £70,000 + profit related bonus (circa £3,000-£4,000)

The role of the Sales Manager (National) – GRP Roofing will involve:

  * Field sales position selling a manufactured range of GRP roofing products including rooflights and GRP valley troughs

  * Player manager role, you will be responsible for a sales agent in Scotland and a field sales person for North and East side of England

  * 80% selling into builders merchants, 20% stimulating demand with roofing contractors

  * Approximately 150 specialist roofing merchants and approximately 800 generalist builders’ merchants (Jewson / TP etc). The focus is on specialist roofing merchants.

  * Personal sales responsibly for the South West, South Central, West Midlands, Wales and Cheshire areas

  * Personal revenue responsibility for circa £9m as well as responsibility for the overall UK target of £18m

  * 80-90% sales 10-20% sales management

  * Typical order value £3,000, large specialist roofing distributor would be £1m+ per annum, and a small spend account would be spending between £5-10k per annum

  * Inheriting a team currently 18% down on budget, largely due to economic factors

The ideal applicant will be a Sales Manager (National) – GRP Roofing with:

  * Must have a roofing related field sales background

  * Must have sold in builders merchants

  * Roofing contractor customer experience useful

  * Field sales management would be nice but not essential

  * Any knowledge of GRP products and applications may be advantageous

  * Specific knowledge of; rooflights, GRP, profiles, roofing, valley troughs, gutters etc. not essential

  * Strong computer literacy skills

  * High levels of organisational skills such as planning, punctuality and prescience
