Job Description
Our client is a leading company in the heavy engineering industry, seeking a reliable and skilled General Ops/ Labourer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain specialized training in sand/grit blasting, working alongside experienced engineers in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general operational tasks, including housekeeping and maintenance of the shop floor
- Operate various shop floor equipment, machinery, and power and hand tools
- Undergo training to become a Blaster (Sand/Grit), ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to achieve project goals and deadlines
- Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company health and safety policies
Requirements:
- Familiarity with shop floor equipment, machinery, and power and hand tools
- Previous blasting experience is an advantage, but not essential – we're willing to train the right candidate
- Reliable, focused, and committed to producing high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively within a team of engineers
- Driving Licence is essential
- Current FLT (Fork Lift Truck) licence is a significant advantage
