Job Title: Principal / Platinum SAP Basis Consultant
Location: UK – Remote (Must have right to wok in the UK)
Contract Type: 6 month contract (outside IR35)
Overview:
Are you an experienced SAP Basis Consultant at the Principal or Platinum level? Do you have experience in leading and supporting a high-profile SAP Enhancement Pack Upgrade project? If so this could be the role for you!
This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to mentor internal teams while keeping projects on track.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering complex SAP system upgrades and implementations, strong Oracle and cloud infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor across technical and strategic workstreams. Banking or Asset Management experience highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead SAP Enhancement Pack (EHP) upgrade projects, with a focus on ECC 6 EHP 6 and EHP 8.
Provide expert-level mentorship to internal Basis resources and collaborate with the SAP Squad Lead to maintain project delivery in a “green” status.
Take ownership of technical challenges and offer proactive solutions to drive project outcomes.
Coordinate technical project activities including installations, upgrades, configurations, and performance tuning.
Engage with SAP Support for problem resolution, system escalations, and patch management.
Contribute to the planning and execution of system architecture and high-availability strategies.
Assist in sandbox setup and System Landscape Directory (SLD) configurations.Technical Skills & Experience:
8+ years of SAP Basis experience with a strong foundation in system administration.
Hands-on experience in at least 1–2 SAP upgrades and/or 1–2 SAP implementations.
Expertise in managing Oracle 19c database environments.
Deep knowledge of SAP HANA installations, S/4HANA, ECC, and CRM applications.
Proficiency in using Software Update Manager (SUM) to drive upgrades.
Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager 7.2 and its implementation.
Solid understanding of SAP Security, SSO, Infrastructure Security, HA/DR strategies.
Proven experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and Windows Server environments.
Exposure to technical architecture planning is a plus.
