About this role:
A leading power and critical infrastructure provider is seeking an experienced SAP Engineer to support a major project north of Dublin. The site comprises multiple 20kV, 90MW generator-fed power stations supplying the primary power source to several large data centre facilities. This is an 18-month contract starting January, offering the opportunity to take a key role in the safe operation and governance of high-voltage systems within a mission-critical environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Develop, write, and approve LV and HV switching plans for 20kV systems.
* Perform live switching of 20kV circuits in line with safety rules and operational procedures.
* Issue and manage permits to work, ensuring full compliance with all HV/LV safety standards.
* Review, validate, and maintain all technical documentation related to HV/LV operations.
* Liaise with on-site engineering teams and data centre stakeholders to ensure safe, coordinated power operations.
* Provide expertise on system safety, operational readiness, and procedural compliance.
Experience Required:
* Current, valid SAP (Senior Authorised Person) qualification.
* Demonstrable experience in HV/LV switching, permit issuing, and high-voltage operational management.
* Recent data centre experience strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of 20kV distribution systems, generator-fed power stations, and mission-critical environments.
* Ability to interpret technical documents and produce accurate switching plans.
* Exceptional safety awareness and experience working in live, high-risk electrical environmentsBefore You Apply
