Role: Saw Operative
Role Requirements
To handle and saw steel to written work instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities
To process customer orders to sales and planning specifications whilst ensuring that company quality procedures are adhered to and responsibility for quality output is taken.
Understand the different sawing requirements of different metals ensuring productivity and efficiency targets are achieved weekly/monthly.
Follow company health and safety policies resulting in a safe, clean and controlled working environment for all personnel.
Update IMetal status codes and schedules.
Perform general tasks if and when required to maintain flexibility across the plant.

Ability to accurately convey written and verbal instructions

Accountabilities and Performance Measures
To see the due date on the paperwork.
The number of cuts and the number of sawn hours are recorded monthly
Material is sawn correctly as any errors can cost in terms of scrap and late deliveries to the customer
Job Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum 2 years engineering experience preferred
Formal material handling course desirable
Overhead crane experience
Working hours of 40 hours per week
Rotation of days and nights.
The day shifts are Monday to Friday, from 06:00 to 14:30.
The night shifts are Monday to Thursday, extending into Friday morning, from 18:00 to 04:00Before You Apply
