SC Cleared Network Engineer | Cisco | Palo Alto | NSX-T | Defence | Contract
Routing & Switching | Firewalls | Secure Networks | SC Cleared | Hybrid
SR2 is supporting a consultancy partner on multi-year project and we're looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join the dedicated product team building and supporting a highly secure, state-of-the-art digital platform.
This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining secure on-prem network infrastructure, collaborating with security, platform, and architecture teams to deliver solutions in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimise secure on-premises network infrastructure
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortigate firewalls, and NSX-T
Build and maintain both physical and virtualised network environments
Support high availability, scalability, and performance across the network estate
Prepare and deliver detailed technical design documentation and knowledge management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions and meet evolving business needs
Ensure compliance with governance, change control, and security accreditation processesSkills & Experience Required:
3+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer in secure or regulated environments
Strong knowledge of switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, VNets, BGP, and software-defined networking
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, NSX-T, and Fortigate technologies
Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to deliver pragmatic solutions in complex environments
Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl)
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Professional certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP) highly desirableThe Details:

Rate: Market rate (Inside IR35)
