ICTalent Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established 4-form entry primary school in South Birmingham to appoint an experienced School Bursar. This is a full-time temp-to-perm role, starting as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with school-based experience to join a welcoming and supportive school community, with the potential to move into a permanent position after a successful temporary period.
Role overview:
The School Bursar will play a key role in the day-to-day and strategic financial management of the school. You will work closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership to ensure the school operates within budget and complies with all relevant financial regulations.
Key responsibilities:

Managing the school’s budget and financial systems
*
Preparing regular financial reports for the Headteacher and Governors
*
Overseeing procurement, invoicing, and contract management
*
Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
*
Supporting with HR and payroll administration when required
Candidate requirements:
*
Proven experience in a financial role within a school is essential
*
Confident in managing school budgets and financial planning
*
Familiarity with school finance software (e.g. SIMS FMS, PS Financials)
*
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a busy school office
