Job Description
A secondary school is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support the site team on a temporary basis from 1st December until 19th December. This role involves maintaining the school’s facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for staff and students.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out daily maintenance tasks and minor repairs around the school site
*
Ensure the school premises are safe, secure, and well presented
*
Open and/or close the school buildings as required
*
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, pathways, and communal spaces
*
Assist with moving furniture, setting up rooms, and supporting school events
*
Conduct routine checks on heating, lighting, and alarm systems
*
Report maintenance issues promptly and liaise with external contractors when needed
*
Support the Site Manager with general caretaking duties as required
Requirements:
*
Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, or in a maintenance/handyperson role
*
Good practical skills for minor repairs and general upkeep
*
Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
*
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
*
Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work
