Job Description

Caretaker – Immediate Start (Temp to Perm)
Location: Mansfield Area
Pay: £15–£17 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Shifts:

  * 

    7:00am – 3:00pm

  * 

    11:00am – 7:00pm

We are recruiting a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join a large school site on a temporary basis, with a strong chance of becoming permanent after 8 weeks.

You’ll be supporting a busy estates team on a 42-acre site with 12 buildings, ensuring the school is safe, secure, and well maintained. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  * 

    Secure the site daily, including opening and locking up buildings

  * 

    Routine maintenance, repairs, and general site upkeep

  * 

    Supporting the estates team across the school grounds

  * 

    Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed

  * 

    Assisting with checks, inspections, and contractor visits

  * 

    Providing occasional support to a nearby partner school when needed

What We’re Looking For:

  * 

    Previous caretaking or maintenance experience is beneficial

  * 

    Strong awareness of site security and safety

  * 

    Reliable, hands-on, and able to work independently

  * 

    Good communication and teamwork skills

  * 

    Flexibility to work either shift pattern as required
