Are you a reliable and proactive School Caretaker looking for a new opportunity in a Secondary School setting? Tradewind is working with a school in High Wycombe seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join their site team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic and a hands-on approach to facility maintenance and school safety.
The school, based in High Wycombe, offers a supportive environment and values the important role that the site team plays in maintaining a safe and welcoming space for students and staff. The successful candidate will hold the skills to ensure the school buildings and grounds are well-maintained, secure, and fully operational each day.
Role Overview:
Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor DIY tasks across the school site
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
Monitor and manage site cleanliness, waste disposal, and contractor access
Support the opening and closing of school premises, including setting alarms
Assist with setup for school events and basic grounds-keeping when required
Conduct regular site inspections and report any issues in line with school policy
Role Requirements:
Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Assistant, or similar role with transferable skill
Strong practical skills and understanding of maintenance procedures
Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to be flexible with working hours, including early mornings or evenings
Awareness of health and safety and safeguarding in school environments
A positive attitude and pride in maintaining a safe learning environment
