School Caretaker - Secondary School
Location: Ealing, West London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, All Year Round or Term Time plus some holiday working
A well-regarded secondary school in Ealing is seeking a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker to join our site team from September 2025. This is an important role in helping us maintain a safe, clean and well-managed environment for our students, staff and visitors.
Main Responsibilities as School Caretaker
Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks across the school site
Opening and locking the school each day, ensuring the site is secure
Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times
Supervising cleaning staff and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the premises
Assisting with the setup of rooms and spaces for school events, exams and other activities
Monitoring contractors on site and supporting planned maintenance tasks
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience in a caretaking, site management or facilities role, ideally within a school
Good practical skills in areas such as plumbing, painting or basic carpentry
An understanding of health and safety procedures
A proactive and flexible approach to work
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one
