Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced School Chef / Cook to join a friendly and well-organised secondary school kitchen in the Prestwich area. This is a long-term, term-time position starting immediately and would suit someone confident in managing daily meal preparation for around 550 students.
Working alongside a small, supportive team, you will take a hands-on role in preparing and cooking hot meals, supporting with deliveries, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation in the kitchen.
The successful School Chef / Cook will:
Have previous experience in a school or large-scale catering kitchen.
Hold relevant Food Hygiene and Safety qualifications.
Be confident preparing and cooking a range of meals - from curries and noodles to traditional roast dinners.
Be organised and able to manage prep for break and lunch service efficiently.
Be comfortable working independently and supporting a small catering team.
Hold a valid enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
You'll join a dedicated catering team of four who ensure smooth service every day, maintaining the school's high standards for quality and nutrition.
