About the organisation Curieus Games CIC is a UK Community Interest Company based in Bristol. Our mission is to raise energy literacy through play. We make energy and climate education fun and accessible. Our vision is to inspire and attract young people to work in the energy sector. Our flagship programme, Megawatt, consists of an energy based educational card game supported by a series of workshops. The object of the programme is to engage students on energy and sustainability through gamification and ethical debates. This role has been created to scale up the delivery of Megawatt across the UK. You can see more about our organisation here: www.megawatt.game/ Job summary We’re looking for an inspiring, enthusiastic individual to bring Megawatt’s energy and sustainability workshops to life in schools across the UK. Your role will be to champion Megawatt by identifying schools interested in Megawatt, delivering engaging workshops in person and building strong, lasting relationships with those schools. If you have experience in the education sector, ideally as a science or geography teacher, are passionate about energy and sustainability and love to inspire students, we want to hear from you. Job outline School engagement * Identify schools and teachers interested in hosting Megawatt workshops. * Engage with interested schools and enrol them onto the Megawatt programme. In-person delivery and training * Plan and deliver engaging Megawatt workshops directly to students in schools. * Train teachers and STEM Ambassadors to deliver Megawatt workshops. * Provide ongoing support to teachers using Megawatt. Building relationships with schools * Stay up to date with the challenges and opportunities teachers face, and identify how Megawatt can help solve them. * Build connections with educational organisations and delivery partners who work in schools. * Represent Megawatt at teacher-facing conferences and events. Supporting product development * Collect feedback from teachers and students to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of Megawatt workshops. * Support the ongoing development of Megawatt resources and delivery methods. Essential criteria * Self-motivated with the ability to communicate and inform in an effective way. * Substantial recent experience teaching in UK schools, preferably at secondary level. * Strong background in teaching science, geography, or a related STEM subject. * Ability to inspire students on energy, sustainability and climate topics. * Experience in planning and delivering engaging lessons and workshops. * Full UK driving licence, access to a car and willingness to travel to schools across the UK and occasional visits to our Bristol office. * A collaborative, can-do approach and the confidence to work independently in a small, mission-driven team. * Comfortable working flexibly and remotely, using online tools for collaboration and communication. * Must be a UK resident with the right to work. Desirable criteria * Experience delivering CPD or training to other teachers. * Experience building partnerships or networks within the education sector. * Knowledge of energy systems and the energy sector. * Previous involvement in careers education, STEM outreach, or sustainability education.
