Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for several School Mini Bus Drivers to join Kirklees Council's Transport Service on an ongoing basis. Please note these roles are part-time, working in term-time only.
Key Responsibilities
*
Drive a Council minibus to transport children with SEND between home and school in a safe and timely manner.
*
Ensure passengers have a comfortable, positive, and respectful travel experience.
*
Carry out manual handling duties, including securing wheelchair users and adding/removing seats as required.
*
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
*
Work alongside Passenger Assistants to support children during journeys, including those who may present challenging behaviour.
*
Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
*
A confident and responsible driver with a Category D1 licence.
*
Experienced in driving passenger vehicles, ideally within a school transport or care setting.
*
Patient, compassionate, and committed to supporting children with SEND.
*
Able to carry out manual handling tasks safely.
*
Flexible and reliable, with good time management skills.
*
Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check with both Adult and Children’s Barred List checks.
