School Office Administrator - Lancaster 🏫 Full-Time Role | NJC Pay to Scale | Start Date: Monday 3rd November 2025 Are you an experienced, highly organised, and welcoming School Administrator ready to be the essential front-of-house professional in a busy Lancaster school office? We are seeking a dedicated, full-time professional to manage crucial administrative duties. This long-term position offers competitive remuneration, paid directly to the recognised NJC Support Staff Pay Scale (e.g., potential starting salary around £24,796 - £26,824 FTE dependent on experience and grade). The Role: The Heart of the School Office You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and professional running of the school office, acting as the primary link between staff, students, and parents. Front Office & Reception: Serve as the professional first point of contact, managing the main reception area, handling all telephone calls, and responding to emails and day-to-day enquiries. Data Management: Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and admissions, using the school's Management Information System (MIS) such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom. Administrative Support: Undertake word processing, filing, organising school trips/events, and assisting the Headteacher and staff with general administrative and clerical tasks. Finance & Supplies: Manage supplies and resources, assist with ordering, and support basic finance administration like processing documentation and raising purchase orders. Compliance: Ensure the confidentiality of all information and support the school's safeguarding procedures. Essential Requirements Prior experience working in a school office environment is essential. Strong experience and proficiency with a School Management Information System (MIS), such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), highly organised, accurate, and capable of working calmly under pressure. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email). Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The Offer Pay: Paid directly to the NJC Support Staff Pay Scale. Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract (with the potential to become permanent following a successful trial period). Start Date: Monday 3rd November 2025. Location: Lancaster, Lancashire.
