Job Description

Science Technician Full-time | 5 days per week Secondary Schools across Southwark We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a group of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Southwark. This is a full-time, five-day-per-week role offering stability, variety, and excellent opportunities for professional growth. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative science department, supporting high-quality teaching and learning in well-resourced laboratories. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring practical science lessons run smoothly, safely, and effectively. Key Responsibilities: Preparing, setting up, and clearing away equipment and materials for science lessons Supporting teachers during practical experiments where required Ensuring laboratories are safe, organised, and well-maintained Managing stock, chemicals, and equipment in line with health and safety regulations Assisting with demonstrations, displays, and enrichment activities Maintaining accurate records and supporting departmental administration We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has experience working in a school science department or laboratory environment (desirable) Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures in science Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently Enjoys working as part of a team in a busy school environment Is committed to supporting inclusive education and student success What We Offer: A full-time, long-term role across welcoming secondary schools in Southwark An inclusive, supportive working environment where staff wellbeing is valued Opportunities for career progression and professional development The chance to work alongside experienced science staff in well-equipped departments A role that makes a real difference to students' learning experiences If you are passionate about science, enjoy working in education, and are looking for a rewarding full-time role with progression opportunities, we would love to hear from you
