Your Leadership Role As Second in Charge of Science, you will: * Support the Head of Science in the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Science Department, ensuring an inspiring and challenging curriculum from KS3 to KS5. * Design and deliver captivating Science lessons across all key stages, with a strong focus on Key Stage 5. * Champion critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of scientific principles. * Support the mentoring of departmental staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on continuous improvement. * Assist in organising and promoting a rich programme of extracurricular science activities, workshops, and events that enhance student engagement and showcase their talents. * Contribute to student assessment and progress tracking, providing insightful feedback and intervention strategies. * Contribute to the school's vibrant pastoral life as a form tutor. Who We're Looking For * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) at degree level or equivalent. * Proven success teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. * Essential experience teaching Science effectively at Key Stage 5 (A-Level), with a strong track record of student achievement. * A passionate educator with a flair for cultivating academic excellence and a commitment to nurturing student potential in science, with a desire to take on leadership responsibilities. * Exceptional subject knowledge and pedagogical skills across a broad range of topics within Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. * A dynamic, innovative, and adaptable teaching style. * Excellent classroom management and the ability to foster an inclusive, inspiring learning environment. * A collaborative team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
