Are you a recent Science graduate with a passion for education and a desire to inspire the next generation of scientists?
Are you considering a future career in teaching or science education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience?
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a high-achieving and supportive secondary school in Barnet that is seeking a dedicated Science Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term position (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm) with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates with a background in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics who want to develop their classroom experience and make a real difference in students' learning.
About the Role
As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students in Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially A-Level.
Work closely with Science teachers to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students who may need help understanding key concepts.
Help prepare practical resources and materials for experiments and lessons.
Encourage students' curiosity and confidence in Science.
Support practical lessons, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
What We're Looking For
A recent Science graduate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field).
A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
