Job Title:Secondary Science Specialist Teacher

About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science Specialist Teacher to join our secondary school team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and subject specialism. You will play a key role in inspiring students to develop a deep interest in science, encouraging critical thinking, and supporting academic progress through high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver outstanding science lessons in line with the national curriculum for KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 if applicable).
Teach one or more science disciplines (biology, chemistry, or physics) with confidence and enthusiasm.
Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
Contribute to the development of schemes of work, assessments, and enrichment activities.
Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.Person Specification:Essentials:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in a science-related subject.
Experience teaching science at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.Desirable:
Experience teaching science at A-Level.
Ability to lead or support extracurricular STEM activities or clubs.
