Science Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time science teacher to work at an excellent school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible, and lasting until at least February half term 2026. Full planning and marking will be expected for this role, and for this reason payment will be in line with the main teaching pay scale. Scaled to a daily rate, this will be between £168.80 and £261.77 per day. There is potential for part time (4 days per week), for an excellent candidate, so please do get in touch if you have 4 days worth of availability.

The school is a very short drive away from Hull, and is also available on some bus routes and via the train from Hull City Centre. There is a large, free, onsite car park that is free to use for all candidates. Behaviour at the school is widely recognised as good, and the school is part of a growing local academy trust which has an excellent reputation within the local area. The trust in particular treat their staff (either permanent or temporary) extremely well, and this school has been noted as a great school to work on a supply basis. 

You will be responsible for teaching science to Key Stage 3 students predominantly, with a small amount of Key Stage 4 science teaching on the timetable. Full planning and marking is expected, and ideally a candidate who is happy to perform practical lessons to engage the students is desired for this role. As this is a predominantly Key Stage 3 teaching vacancy, any science specialism will be considered for this role, with the schools priority being on finding a vibrant and engaging teacher. Currently the school are happy to accept applications from ECTs, but will not be able to sign off a term of ECT with the booking not being long enough. If this booking extends, that may become a possibility.

Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

Has a PGCE/Qualified Teacher status
Has a science degree (desirable)
Have experience working within colleges in the UK
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
