Location: Newport, Wales
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time contract, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:10pm.
Pay: £172.98 to £200 per day (depending on experience.)
A welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Newport is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Science to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire curiosity and a love of Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, within a supportive and well-resourced department.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Science lessons across the curriculum, supporting pupils to develop a strong understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will play a key role in raising attainment, promoting scientific thinking, and encouraging a sense of curiosity and discovery in learners of all abilities.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to teach Science across KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Enthusiasm and passion for Science education
Excellent classroom management skills
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
Strong commitment to pupil progress and achievement
Desirable:
Experience teaching GCSE Science (Combined or Separate Sciences)
ECT/NQT applications welcomed
Experience in practical-based teaching and laboratory work
Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales
Essential Safeguarding & Compliance:
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
