In the heart of St Albans, Hertfordshire an ‘good’ Secondary School are on the hunt for a Science Teacher Biology speciaism to A-Level and General Science to GCSE for September 2026 start. This is a full time permanent position ( Employed directly by the School)
The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology who is keen to add value to an expanding department. The school is renowned for their supportive SLT, and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.
The Science department is focused on developing our students as strong independent scientific thinkers. At A level the faculty has over 50 high achieving students studying the sciences, with many studying two or more. At GCSE the top sets study the AQA Separate Science Course and the rest follow the AQA Combined Science Course. The department has eight dedicated science labs and 4 prep rooms.
The school are well invested into the Education sector setting new teaching practices, as well as training their own and new staff. It’s an exciting time at the school!
Early Career Teacher of Science (ECT) will be enrolled onto the schools very own bespoke ECT induction, as well as work alongside a range of young & experienced teachers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Must have QTS or QTLS
* Strong academics across the board – Degree, A Levels and GCSEs
* Must be meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a ‘Good or Outstanding’ level
* You must be able to work as part of a large team of Teachers
* Must be willing to listen to feedback
