About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our thriving Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for a Science Teacher who is passionate about inspiring young minds and making a real difference in students’ lives.
As a Science Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. You will play a key role in developing students’ understanding and love of Science while contributing to the broader life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
*
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Science curriculum.
*
Teach Science to students of all ages and abilities.
*
Monitor student progress and use data to inform teaching and learning.
*
Address underachievement through targeted teaching strategies.
*
Actively support extra-curricular Science activities.
*
Create a purposeful and positive learning environment in the Science classroom.
*
Work collaboratively with the Science department and the wider school staff.
*
Take responsibility for marking, assessment, and reporting of student progress.
*
Uphold and promote the school’s values and policies.
Person Specification
Essential:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*
A degree in a Science-related subject.
*
Ability to teach Science to at least GCSE level; A-level desirable.
*
Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
*
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
*
Ability to inspire and engage students through innovative Science teaching.
Desirable:
*
Experience teaching BTEC Applied Science or T Level Healthcare Science.
*
Experience as a Tutor and involvement in pastoral work.
