We are collaborating with several forward-thinking secondary schools in Kettering who are looking to appoint motivated Science Teachers for the academic year starting September 2025. These full-time, permanent positions offer an excellent opportunity to work in well-equipped schools committed to delivering high-quality Science education and raising student outcomes.
What the Role Entails:
Planning and delivering inspiring Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 (A-Level) for experienced candidates, specialising in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science
Creating lessons that engage learners through practical experiments, real-world applications, and interactive teaching methods
Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of students of varying abilities, including those with SEN and EAL
Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
Leading or supporting extracurricular STEM activities such as Science clubs, competitions, STEM fairs, and field trips
Collaborating with the Science department and wider school staff to develop schemes of work, resources, and cross-curricular projects
Contributing to whole-school initiatives aimed at improving teaching and learning standards
Who We Are Looking For:
Qualified teacher status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with a strong Science background
Excellent knowledge of the secondary Science curriculum and current exam specifications (GCSE and A-Level)
Proven ability to deliver engaging lessons that develop critical thinking and practical skills
Confident behaviour management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment
Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Experience or interest in promoting STEM careers and outreach activities is a plus
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly welcomed and will benefit from a comprehensive induction and mentoring programme to support their development.
