Job Description
We are looking for a Science Teacher to work in a successful and well-established secondary school in Taunton, Somerset.
Science Teacher required from September 2025 – full-time, permanent role
Comprehensive school with a strong academic ethos in Taunton
General Science KS3–KS4 with Chemistry or Biology A-Level specialism preferred
A well-regarded and high-performing secondary school in Taunton is looking to recruit a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher. This position will suit either an experienced practitioner or a talented ECT eager to join a team of committed professionals in delivering exceptional science education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to specialise in Chemistry or Biology at A-Level. The department is well-equipped with modern laboratories, an enthusiastic team, and excellent technician support.
This role would suit someone with excellent subject knowledge, classroom management skills, and the ability to inspire young scientists.
Experience and Qualifications
• Degree in Science (Biology or Chemistry preferred) and QTS
• Experience teaching KS3–KS5 desirable
• Ability to deliver lessons that are engaging, challenging, and differentiated
• Right to work in the UK
