Science Technician – Full Time – Secondary School in Portsmouth

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Portsmouth. This is a full-time, term-time only role, perfect for someone with a strong scientific background and a hands-on approach to learning.
About the Role:
As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department to ensure the smooth running of practical lessons. Your duties will include:
Preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical experiments
Ensuring health and safety protocols are always followed
Assisting teachers during practical demonstrations
Managing stock and ordering supplies
Maintaining an organised and safe working environment for staff and students
Ideal Candidate:
Has previous experience working as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment
Holds a relevant qualification in science or a related field
Is well-organised, methodical, and able to work independently
Has a sound understanding of health and safety in a lab setting
Demonstrates a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for science
