Job Description
We have partnered with a fantastic Academy offering a rare opportunity to join a friendly, hardworking, and dedicated Science Technician team in a supportive school environment. This is a term-time only role (plus one week in the holidays), ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a team, and is passionate about supporting science education.
As a Science Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and safe science lessons. Working closely with teachers and fellow technicians, you’ll help prepare, maintain, and manage practical equipment and materials across the science labs.
What you’ll be doing?
* Preparing and delivering equipment and materials for lessons
* Setting up and safely storing specialist apparatus
* Maintaining an organised and efficient prep room
* Supporting the safe removal and cleaning of used equipment
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
* Assisting with the distribution of resources across labs
Qualifications & Skills you’ll have
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science (Grade C or above)
* Health & Safety and First Aid training (or willingness to train)
* Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills
* Knowledge of risk assessments and COSHH procedures
* Experience in a lab environment (school or industry) is desirable
* Excellent communication skills with both students and staff
