PK Education is currently recruiting for an experienced, reliable and organised Science Technician to support a busy and successful Science Department within a secondary school in Northumberland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a science background, laboratory experience, or previous school-based technician experience who is passionate about supporting practical learning.
As a Science Technician, you will:
Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons
Ensure all apparatus and chemicals are stored safely and maintained appropriately
Support teachers during practical sessions where required
Carry out basic maintenance and stock control of laboratory equipment
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times
Assist with ordering and monitoring departmental resources
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A background in Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
Previous experience in a laboratory or school environment (desirable but not essential)
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Knowledge of health & safety procedures within a lab setting
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
