Are you a skilled and organised individual with a passion for science education? A vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join their science department from the 1st of September for the full academic year.
As a Science Technician based in Wandsworth, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of practical science lessons across KS3 and KS4. You'll be working closely with teachers and students, ensuring the safe preparation, maintenance, and availability of lab equipment and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Support teaching staff in delivering engaging practical sessions.
Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and lab materials.
Monitor stock levels and place orders when required.Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
A science-related qualification or strong understanding of science lab protocols.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
A strong understanding of lab safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
