Science Technician – Secondary School in Maidstone
Start: September 2025 | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity
Are you a passionate and organised Science Technician based in Maidstone?
Would you like to be part of a hardworking, friendly, and supportive Science team at a popular and well-resourced Secondary School?
We are working with a large, successful secondary school set in beautiful grounds with fantastic facilities, who are looking to welcome a new Science Technician to their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative department and play a vital role in supporting engaging science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons
Providing technical support up to A-Level in all three sciences
Managing stock levels of materials and chemicals, including the annual inventory
Ensuring equipment and labs meet Health & Safety standards
Cleaning, maintaining and storing apparatus appropriately
Supporting teaching staff and working closely with fellow technicians
Assisting in chemical spill response and safe waste disposal procedures
What We’re Looking For:
Previous school lab experience is advantageous, but not essential
A Science-related degree is required if you do not have prior school experience
Confident using ICT to manage stock or support lessons
Reliable, organised, and proactive with excellent teamwork skills
A genuine enthusiasm for science and supporting young learners
