Overview:
An alternative provision in West London is seeking an experienced Science Technician to support KS3 and KS4 Science. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory support and experience working directly with students, including those with behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain lab equipment and materials for science practicals.
Support Science teaching staff with in-class activities and technical setup.
Assist in managing student behaviour and promoting engagement during lessons.
Ensure health and safety standards are maintained in the lab environment.
Monitor and order stock, ensuring safe storage and handling of chemicals.Essential Criteria:
Previous experience as a Science Technician in a secondary setting.
Knowledge of the KS3/KS4 Science curriculum.
Experience supporting students with behavioural or additional needs.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Understanding of lab safety protocols.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
