Are you an experienced Science Technician with a background in schools or education? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a skilled and reliable Science Technician to join a secondary school in Tameside immediately.
The Role:
As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department, ensuring that all practical lessons are well-prepared and run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
🔬 Preparing and organising equipment for science experiments and practical sessions
🧪 Ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with health and safety regulations
📋 Keeping track of stock levels and ordering laboratory supplies when needed
🧹 Cleaning and maintaining scientific apparatus to ensure a safe working environment
👩🏫 Assisting teachers and students with practical experiments where necessary
📝 Maintaining accurate records of equipment, stock, and health & safety checks
Who We're Looking For:
✔️ Must have previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or educational setting
✔️ Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and scientific equipment
✔️ Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
✔️ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
✔️ A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
