About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician with a specialism in Chemistry to join a successful Science Department in Ealing.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of Science across Key Stages 3–5. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and fellow technicians to ensure that practical lessons are engaging, safe, and well-resourced — helping to bring Chemistry to life for our students.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, set up, and clear away practical materials and apparatus for Chemistry lessons, as well as occasional support for Biology and Physics.
*
Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is safe, clean, and ready for use.
*
Support teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations.
*
Safely store, label, and dispose of chemicals in line with COSHH and CLEAPSS regulations.
*
Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments in the laboratories.
*
Keep accurate stock records and order new materials as needed.
*
Assist with displays and preparation for open evenings, science fairs, and enrichment activities.
*
Promote good practice in health and safety throughout the department.
Person Specification
Essential:
*
A strong background in Chemistry (minimum A-Level or equivalent).
*
Experience working in a laboratory environment.
*
Knowledge of Health & Safety in science (COSHH, risk assessments, safe handling of chemicals).
*
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*
A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
Desirable:
*
Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
*
Previous experience as a school Science Technician.
*
Familiarity with CLEAPSS guidance and school laboratory procedures.
*
Willingness to support across all science disciplines when required.
