Teach Now is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a science tutor to join a supportive and high-achieving secondary school in Hertfordshire from September 2025. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher or experienced tutor looking to make a direct impact through small-group or 1:1 intervention work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school is committed to raising attainment and supporting all learners, especially in core subjects like science. As a science tutor, you’ll play a vital role in helping students grasp key concepts, prepare for exams, and foster a love of learning.
What you’ll be doing
• Deliver targeted science support to small groups or individual students
• Prepare and adapt engaging materials based on students’ needs
• Track and report on progress and learning outcomes
• Build positive relationships to encourage confidence and independence
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN/inclusion team
What we’re looking for
• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or strong tutoring experience
• Strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and/or physics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
