Summary
Location: East Midlands
Salary: £30-34k per annum
Contract: 8 months temporary position, full‑time, ending December 2026Join a leading materials company as a Scientist supporting their technical team.
This role exists to help shape, refine and deliver solutions used across UK, with a strong focus on technical performance and customer impact.
A great opportunity for candidates with a scientific or engineering background looking to grow their experience in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting to create and test new technical solutions
Working closely with multiple business functions-innovation, sustainability, digital and portfolio teams-to progress new product development projects
Ensuring customer needs are clearly understood and embedded into technical decisions and project outcomes
Helping identify root‑cause issues and applying structured technical processes to answer key project questions
Contributing to continuous improvement in safety standards and championing safe working practices
Engaging directly with customers and maintaining clear, supportive communication throughout each project
Travelling to customer sites around the UK when required
What We're Looking For
Degree in a science, engineering or related discipline
Previous experience applying scientific or technical principles within projects
Confident communicator who can explain technical points clearly and factually
Organised, delivery‑focused and able to manage multiple tasks with high accuracy
Commitment to excellent safety behaviours
