Job Description
Established manufacturing organisation seeks an experienced Scurf Operator for immediate start. Permanent Contracts offered, varying shifts available, competitive rates of pay and progression opportunities provided.
As Scurf Operator you’ll be supporting the production of high-performance aero components by removing surface defects and preparing parts for further processing. Prior experience in high-
Scurf Operator duties:
* Remove surface imperfections from forged aerospace components to meet visual and dimensional standards
* Operate grinding and surface preparation equipment safely and effectively
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain Route Card discipline
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) guidelines, including correct use of PPE
* Maintain product quality and batch traceability throughout the process
* Complete all required documentation and inspection records accurately
Skills/Experience required for the role of Scurf Operator:
* Previous experience in metal finishing, grinding, or surface preparation in a manufacturing or industrial setting
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and measurement equipment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Team-oriented with good communication skills and a proactive approach to improvement
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Various Shifts Available
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Contract: Permanent
