A dynamic secondary school in Andover is looking to appoint a Second in Design & Technology to play a key role in the leadership and continued development of their forward-thinking DT Department. Starting September 2025, this role would suit an experienced DT teacher with leadership ambition and a passion for creativity and innovation.

DT Department
The department delivers a broad curriculum that includes Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Food Technology at KS3 and KS4. The school offers BTEC and GCSE options and has invested significantly in modern tools, including 3D printers, CAD software, and laser cutters.
Your Role
You’ll support the Head of Department in curriculum planning, assessment tracking, and developing high standards of teaching and learning across all DT strands. You’ll take responsibility for leading a specialist area (e.g., Product Design or Food), supporting staff development, and driving extracurricular initiatives such as design clubs, competitions, and exhibitions.
Ideal Candidate

A DT-related degree and QTS
*
Strong classroom experience and subject knowledge in at least one DT strand
*
The ability to manage projects and lead curriculum development
*
Commitment to inclusive, practical, and design-driven learning
*
Experience mentoring ECTs or leading enrichment activities
