A high-achieving secondary school in Taunton is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Second in Physics to take a leadership role within a dynamic Science Department from September 2025. Your Role
As Second in Physics, you will take responsibility for curriculum development, student progress, and teaching standards in the subject. You’ll support the Head of Physics in managing resources, coaching staff, and developing assessments. You’ll also lead on enrichment activities such as the Physics Olympiad, science fairs, or space/STEM clubs.
Ideal Candidate

Physics degree or closely related subject
*
QTS with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, including KS5 Physics teaching
*
Strong grasp of curriculum design and pedagogical approaches in Physics
*
Ability to motivate and mentor colleagues
*
Experience or interest in running extracurricular STEM or Physics programmes
