Starting in September 2025, this role offers excellent prospects for a dedicated science teacher with leadership aspirations and a passion for high-quality science education. About the School This is a large and diverse school serving a broad intake of pupils from across Reading and the surrounding area. With over a dozen teaching staff, multiple technicians, and specialist labs for each discipline, the department has built a culture of shared expertise and a common commitment to enquiry-based learning. Uptake at GCSE and A-Level is strong across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. As Second in Science, you will assist the Head of Faculty in managing day-to-day operations, mentoring colleagues, driving improvement, and leading a specific key area such as KS4, assessment, or quality assurance. The role is ideal for a subject specialist with a deep understanding of pedagogy, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to lead by example.
